Re: St. Jude Recall Replacement
I had a Fidelis lead that was under recall. The Medtronic ICD was fine but there were lots of reports of multiple inappropriate shocks due to the leads fracturing. The doctors and I discussed getting the pulled and replaced. I didn't want to go through the surgery if I didn't need to and I was only ...

Re: ICD Pacing you out...
I feel it when I get paced out of an arrhythmia. But I also feel it when I get interrogated and they ramp up the pacing to test the leads. I think it depends on a lot of factors. Placement of your leads, sensitivity of your muscle, overall condition of your heart tissue.. etc. I only got paces out a...

Welcome Steve. Sorry to hear you got some shocks. But hopefully they were all needed, that means your device did its job.
You mentioned you are the CFO, so I guess you like some of us that are still working full time. Did the shocks happen at work? I always worry about that.

Re: Are Political Repercussions that Offensive?
That's unfair to Bob and probably confusing to anyone who's not seriously into politics or paying close attention to what's going on in Washington. And remember, the purpose of this board is to give those who are dealing with life threatening disease, confusing diagnosis and treatments. This is not...

Re: icd 2 weeks ago
I am just going to pile on what the others have said... beta blockers definitely have an impact on depression. I had a heck of a time finding one that I could tolerate. I probably went through about six different ones before I found one that didn't make me feel like a zombie. Depression is real in h...

Re: Semi OT: Social Security Disability Benefits
Yes Mrag, yes we are. I know I know I know. The actions being taken right now impact all of us, whether we are using ACA or have group insurance from our employers. But we need to stay civil here. I hope that you are contacting your political representatives with as much passion as you are posting h...

Re: All about us if you want to share
My life has been greatly improved by the quality of the friends I have made on here. Although we have never met face to face, this new phenomenon of the INTERNET really has allowed me to become very close to some on here, and I admire and respect every person I come across here. I am very thankful ...

Re: icd 2 weeks ago
Hello and welcome to the group. The whole reason we are here is because for everything the doctors do for us, they very rarely talk about the emotional side effects of all these medical issues. Anxiety and depression are very common after major heart related events. It is not uncommon to go through ...

Welcome Jan. I know it seems all weird now but really it is amazing how fast you get back to your normal stuff... with maybe a few modifications. I am on my third ICD now and was also just upgraded a couple of weeks ago and this time around was much easier. Good luck. Feel free to ask any questions ...

Re: Roll call- please stop in and say Hi
I am here. Been taking it easy over the Holidays to recover from the new ICD.
Suzanne, great job on the smoke free life. I know that is not an easy transition but it gets easier a tiny bit everyday.
Bob, get better dammit!
Robo, check in.

Re: Shocking News
Wow, you got a twofer. Sorry to hear you got walloped twice over the holidays. I think if that happened to me I would seriously give up socks. I haven't had experience with either of those meds but I have talked to several folks on amiodarone and it is a hard med to take. And that was not a small in...

A moment to reflect
Within a week we have lost two entertainers to heart related issues, (George Michael and Carrie Fisher) I know I complain about my meds, the surgeries, my device... hell the whole hassle of it all but right now I am just so grateful for the doctors that have been involved in my care, the devices ava...
