Re: MRI question

You are so right Robbo, I do wonder why my little brain hasn't wondered about this before. Maybe I need a life. It is just that with Lauren it became relevant. Although I know a few people who have MRI's for hearts, but heck they were able to do my procedure for the valve without it, so yes, I reall...

Re: So...

I reckon we are just a stubborn bunch here. I know I am, I am rattling around now with all the extra stuff I chuck in my mouth, but heck, I am feeling better and the scales are showing it. Put on 2 kilos. Also I start YOGA next Monday, I was booked in when Lauren had her car accident, and have only ...

Re: Just Curious

I am still on my 2nd CRT-D and my leads are 12 years old, I got my first in 2006. I often wonder how long they will last, glad to hear you are up to 20. I would expect the site would be a bit old by now, but really never thought about new infections. Will be interested to hear how you get on. I have...

Re: MRI question

So following on from there Robbo, does that mean that our leads are not titanium?? Also I have bare metal stents as my cardiologist will not use any other type, and staples in my body still from my surgery, so does that mean that all these things are the wrong type of metal????? You would think they...

Re: So...

I also have a date organized with my Lauren, her new car has a roof opening thingy, and we are doing the Great Ocean Road in it, with the window open, and I at one stage will do the Titanic windswept pose from out of the roof. (We will probably be parked, but you can guarantee there will be the oce...

Re: MRI question

Thanks Leah and Ron, Lauren's plate is titanium and she breezed through the scan, never felt a thing. They are checking as they don't think the neck has fused completely, where we go from here I haven't a clue. She gets that news on Monday and we will just have to go with the flow.

MRI question

My daughter has a metal plate in her neck. She broke the C2 & C3 Vertebrae about 4 months ago. She is having an MRI tomorrow, and they say it is safe for her to have it. They have to check her neck, so they will be scanning the area directly affected by the plate. I am wondering how she can have an ...

Re: Replacement soon

It is great your saga is over Raymund, I hope you get all the bells and whistles in the new model. Mine is a Boston Scientific and it is actually able to give me an accurate date for expiry. Well that is all hypothetical at the moment, as in the beginning it gave me 8 years, now it is past 10, so th...

Re: Topical topic

Oh Helen I hear you. It still brings a lump to my throat and rehashing all the stuff in my past to come to terms with this break. I have at times picked up the phone to make another effort, but then I remember what happened the last time I did this, and put it down. Then I ring my Lauren and get tol...

Re: O/T: "Bleeding Edge" documentary on Netflix

Just finished watching it and it has raised a lot of issues for me personally. My main concern is about how my new valve will be approved. The trial size. Was it grandfathered. They are now talking about doing trials on healthier individuals even though the death rate is 14%. At the moment that is o...

Re: So...

We had legislative change here in M'arch this year, and I decided to check my paperwork. Can't believe I did it in 2011, and hadn't even checked it since. One of the principles is now DEAD. So, I got onto it and did the forms under the new format that is now available and legally binding. This of co...

Re: Topical topic

"am i hurt..yes totally...... will i ever try and revive the relationship no.. will i accept him if he shows up...of course im still his mother.. do i love him...yes totally do i like him....not really..." I have a similar...
