HAS ANYONE HAD A KNEE REPLACEMENT?

Hi everyone, I've just found out I will more than likely need a total knee replacement soon and was wondering if anyone here has had one (or a hip/shoulder etc.) and if the added metal has affected their ICD? This may sound silly but I'm a bit paranoid about adding more foreign objects to my body. :...

Re: Mild burning pain over ICD area

Thanks Bob, I had a read and it seems quite a common thing. I had a massage yesterday and the girl was moving my arm and shoulder all over the place trying to fix a sore shoulder so I'd say that may have something to do with it. Thanks again! :)

Re: Burning sensation

I had this burning, stinging sensation yesterday but I now think it may be from having a massage where the girl was moving my arm all over the place, trying to fix my sore shoulder.

Mild burning pain over ICD area

Hi again everyone, Just wondering if anyone has ever had like a mild burning or stinging pain over their ICD area. It's not a surface 'skin pain' but more like just under the skin. It just comes and goes every now and then and I first had it yesterday. Hope this makes sense, I always have difficulty...

Re: I am a proper misery guts - please poke me with a stick

Colin, your story has brought tears to my eyes, as I know EXACTLY what you were feeling that day. We feel like we're the only ones suffering with this anxiety and panic attacks and although I don't want anyone to feel this way, it's kind of nice to know we're not alone because unless anyone has expe...

Re: MUSCLE AND JOINT PAIN FROM ICD??

Thanks for all your comments guys. I have chronic knee pain now and have been to an orthapaedic surgeon the other day and had xrays done, but will find out next week results of xrays. I've been told the upper arm pain could be anything from stress to fibromyalgia. It just seems like I'm having one i...

MUSCLE AND JOINT PAIN FROM ICD??

Hi everyone ... I haven't been on here for AGES (probably years) but I have a question (which I may have asked before). Has anyone experienced muscle/joint aches and pains, basically sore everywhere, since having their ICD's put in. I have been having increasing muscle and joint pain over the past f...

safetocomeout Hi everyone, I've gotta say I haven't been on here for a few years so there's probably a few new faces/names I don't know. Anyway, just wanted to 'check in' for roll call. Will try to pop in more often. Cheers! safetocomeout

Re: GLUTEN/WHEAT INTOLERANCE CAN CAUSE IRREGULAR HEART RHYTHM!

Hi again everyone, I'm back (I seem to have long breaks from here, I don't know why!) Just reading all your posts re being gluten free. About the McDonalds chicken wraps, if you look at the ingredients, you'll see that even the 'grilled chicken' without crumbs has all sorts of crap in it, it's certa...

Re: CT Scan

I would only have an MRI if it was ABSOLUTELY necessary (with or without an ICD) ... they are very powerful machines! I googled MRI and electronic devices and found this. Electronic Devices The pacemaker is the electronic device that is most cautioned against in MRI. A pacemaker works by sending ele...

Re: GLUTEN/WHEAT INTOLERANCE CAN CAUSE IRREGULAR HEART RHYTHM!

I'm hearing you all re the 'falling off the wagon' ... Yesterday I had to go to a fund raising 'High Tea' and naturally there was miniature cakes, sandwiches etc, and of course no gluten free anywhere! Luckily I had taken a couple of gluten free things for myself but couldn't resist some of the love...

Re: GLUTEN/WHEAT INTOLERANCE CAN CAUSE IRREGULAR HEART RHYTHM!

Wow, this is great to hear all this. I'm so glad I posted, even if it inspires one person to try it, it'll be worth it. I also remember my birthday last year my friend treated me to a "High Tea" and it was all those mini cakes and sandwiches etc. And boy, did I suffer the next day. Doubled over in p...

Re: GLUTEN/WHEAT INTOLERANCE CAN CAUSE IRREGULAR HEART RHYTHM!

That's amazing, so glad to read your post. It's amazing how different you feel without wheat/gluten isn't it. I hope this will help others in some way. Would be interested to know if anyone else has done this diet. I don't like to call it a 'diet' as such, just a healthy eating plan. I've also cut o...

Re: OT -- Australian Eclipse...

Hi Guin, it's been a while since I've been on here, so hope you're well. Wow, that will be a great trip. I live in Brisbane (Bayside suburbs, about 30km from city) and the places you're planning on going to in Queensland are lovely, though very hot in November. I've been to Cairns, Port Douglas, Dai...
