Update from the hospital...

My CHF kicked in Thursday so I have been in the hospital on the lasix diet!!! 10 liters and counting. The ep talked about turning the pacer off for the BiV and letting my heart pace itself. They need to do an echo tomorrow to see if anything else is contributing to the increased CHF symptoms. The be...

Lasix and Aldactone

Is anyone taking both of these? My doctor added a small dose of aldactone(12.5) To my dose of lasix 40. He also stopped the potassium. I forgot to ask when to take the drugs, together or separately ?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Tony

Pacing with a bi-v or crt device???

Anyone being paced with one of these devices:do you know what your setting is for the pacer? My 3 week old device was set to 70 and I am having less symptoms from chf but am tired constantly and I believe it is because my normal rate before the surgery was 60 and now at 70 my heart is working harder...

Re: Six weeks with my ICD

You will eventually find your new normal. It took me 5months with the first one and I'm in week 3 with the new one and struggling some. Try to do a little bit more each day, it's easier to build on that. I'm starting cardiac rehab next week and would strongly suggest it if its available to you. Thin...

Re: Pain from icd replacement UPDATE

Felling pretty good, there is some swelling that looks big to me but I have no extra body fat. I see the ep on Wed. It doesn't feel hot and there is no drainage or fever. It is just sore and swollen. How much should the device stick out? I called the office today and they said to use a warm compress...

Re: 2nd thoughts about surgery tomorrow...

Thanks for all of the thoughts and advice. The symptoms that led to the decision were a very low ef and heart failure getting worse. I came home for a day and a half and tonight my belly swelled up and the doctor on call doubled my lasix dose. I am ready to have this done. Afraid, but who isn't nono...

2nd thoughts about surgery tomorrow...

Hi all, After an up and down month between the heart and the lymphoma they have decided that it is time to put the bi-v 3 lead device in to replace the single lead device. I went in to class 4 heart failure on Sunday and they put me in for 3 days of lasix therapy which worked wonders. This is the se...
