Re: Sudden cardiac arrest reacurrance

Just joined. Had sudden cardiac arrest about 15 months ago. How do I find info on chances a new one, life expectancy thereafter , etc. Have not had any shocks since the implant but wondered if there are statistics on these questions After my SCA in 2009 I went to Dr Google and found out that folks ...

Let's see: You've encountered undeniable proof that there's something wrong with your heart. You've nearly died, but this time the device sa...

Re: Post Op Fever

Your monitoring is set up by your doctor, in that if a daily report is deemed necessary to provide the level of care and attention you need, your monitor will query your device and send a report each day. I'm at the other end of things where my heart has responded well enough to treatment that I now...

Re: Hernia Surgery in ....Canada

Hyper-specialisation is appreciated and mentioned here whenever newcomers are advised to research the track records of various hospitals and the specialists (EPs) they're considering. What we almost always lack is easy access to the very best of them... but given the realities of not just insurance/...

The news portion is fine. The political mudslinging wasn't.

Re: New News

If I were on that diet I'd be going for the richest, creamiest milkshakes I could make. And hot fudge sundaes, though I'd have to give the cherry away. I'd regain all the weight I lost last year and put on much, much more in no time.

Re: New News

So much for sitting down to just catch up on what's happening over a very busy weekend... Chrissy, if I could be in Oz... :big-hug: :big-hug: :big-hug: You've worked yourself into the hearts of so many of us who'll never meet you in this world... You've been a mother to some, an angel to many, and a...

Re: Post Op Fever

Being a rational guy (who preaches to patients at a mental hospital each Sunday) I looked up Zyvox online and noted this:
Call your doctor at once if you have:

vision problems, changes in color vision;
So, did your vision act up before or after you started Zyvox?

Re: People die- No one is held accountable- Just Amazing

I opened up this topic because we have been opened up by surgeons and had devices implanted in us. This topic isn't so much political as it is a chance to rant and, perhaps, to discuss how we can get the FDA to perform its proper functions.

Any thoughts?

Folks, here comes a moderator-approved rant! There are many sorts of governments in the human experience, ranging from aristocracies and oligarchies, to republics and pure democracies. The worst of all, though, is the most common and is found in service to the others: Bureaucracies, which literally ...

nononono Pushing the moderator's envelope isn't wise! nononono

Actually, not too much has changed in my part of Utah... I'm just glad the wildfires are all out.

Now back to the topic: Soreness around the ICD after several years. Have you any experience with that, garya?

Before anyone else can revive this old joke... Of course he doesn't seem concerned... you're the one in pain, not him! :duh: I've not heard of anyone else with that complaint. Yet. The area around my device quit hurting after just a few weeks after insertion. That area now only hurts for a day or tw...

Re: How things change

My comfort range has changed a lot since I joined this club. As a trucker I was out in all sorts of weather and temperatures, from a low of -24F (-31C) to a high of 118F (48C). Now I find myself rationalizing staying indoors when the temperature's anywhere near freezing or above body temperature.
