Re: New Guy
Most people will feel a "spell" coming on. What does "feel" and what does "spell" mean? Some members here have reported while driving of feeling funny, getting a shock and then driving on. You can have your device set to warn you that it is charging up and MAY shock you in the next minute. Most user...

Re: Amiodarone vs Solatol (Betapace)
Some people seem to do fine on a daily dose of 200 mg of amiodarone. I did not and subsequently moved to Sotalol. That did not work out either which was finalized with a shock storm. I eventually had a ventricular ablation 7 years ago and dropped the drugs. I am a fan of ablations. Sotalol is easier...

Re: a little OT
Perhaps some of this thread escaped my notice. I see where people are discussing where, but I'm missing the more important when. So you turn your device off. Do you think you self terminate in the next 24 hours? How does one control the exit timing? As for this "opiod epidemic" does anyone know how ...

What if you were dying choking on a chicken wing and not cardiac arrest? Maybe a professional opinion could help?

Re: OT-TEST DILEMMA
What an interesting situation? What do they say when you ask why have another test to find nothing new? They must have a reason; practice? Are they actively treating you now? I can only guess that if I was in your shoes with a confirmed exit date, the only thing I would be interested in would be the...

Such sad and unfair news to read about. I trust they are keeping you quite comfortable through all this. All the best.

Hernia Surgery in ....Canada
Found this to be incredibly interesting and informative. Wonder if it would be covered under Obamacare? For those unfamiliar, Rand Paul is a well known right wing Republican nut job and likely on a Russian payroll. You can be assured as a regular American, Paul would vote against you every time in t...

Trump was elected in Nov 2016 and we "continually still experience soreness on the margins."

Re: Comptemplating ICD
An EF of 65% would not appear to warrant an ICD, but perhaps that's a typo. What symptoms prompted you to see a cardiologist in the first place? Sounds like you are about 65? Married? Let me ask a less than tactful question? How do you want to die? In general, the "preferred" method here would be "c...

So everyone on warfarin stayed away from the cranberry sauce yesterday? Didn't think so. Take warfarin and no idea what I'm talking about? Ha Ha.

Re: Doom and Gloom
It was explained to me than any shock is a sign of worsening heart failure. Can you spell BULL SHIT ? Who are these freakin morons you deal with? Find their boss and all sit down and discuss. If they do not recognize the implications of their comments you need to find some other intelligent life fo...

CPAP info on NPR
Anyone here going to expand on the topic? Apparently it extends to other health monitoring areas as in remote ICD interrogations, Big Brother, etc. Sorry about mentioning Big Brother, I know that is frowned upon here by the Republicans.

Re: ICD Shocks while asleep
A number of people here have reported a shock while sleeping. You may want to try playing around with the search function to see if a specific heart condition is mentioned in someone's post. Bottom line, people have gotten a shock while sleeping.
