Re: Replacement soon

The way it was explained to me is that the remote looks for the device every night, or wee hours of the morning. It reads the data on the device and sends a transmission only if there is an alert. Then all information is downloaded when we do a remote transmission. My question is why docs wait so la...

Re: New High tech ....

I'm glad you decided to give replacement another chance. I have a recalled lead...that was implanted after the recall date....and another with known issues. I'm asking for the recalled lead to be removed at replacement. I haven't seen any studies, don't know any statistics, etc., but don't want extr...

Re: Question

It could be a lot of things, Leah. Did you check out the side effects of the medication? Maybe you should report the new symptoms to your doctor.

I hope you get relief soon.

Re: Insurance

So true, Robo. It would seem that Medicare should be the easiest to understand, but it is not only the most complex, but there aren't a lot of people knowledgeable to actually advise people. I can't even get my head around the fact that medication coverage is separate from the Medical. I keep hearin...

Re: Reporter Request

Helen, I don't know if his article will be specific to this recall or if he would be interested in a previous recall, as well. From what I understand, he will focus on the experience of living with a recalled implanted device, particularly this St. Jude recall. He doesn't have a membership here, so ...

Reporter Request

We have been contacted by a reporter who is doing an article about the St. Jude device recall. He is interested in talking to users in the US and throughout the world. Below is his information if you are interested in talking to him or if you would like to know more. --------------------------------...

Re: Insurance

There seems to be a disconnect within insurance companies and medical providers. Processes that used to be quite simple are now very complex. I recently had a couple of lumbar steroid injections for sciatic pain. Both times, insurance pre approval was quick, almost immediate. Then when billed, both ...

Re: Seeking Hospital Information

Hi, Carl. I miss the sermons, too. Would love to see them return. Don't fret over the hospital. We have some of the best hospitals in the world here. People come here from all over the planet for treatment. Physicians from all over the world come here to train. If you need it, your care will be exce...

Re: Thank you and a question!

I had mine implanted on Thursday morning and returned to work on Monday. I stayed an extra day in the hospital because of some BP issues. I went home on Saturday morning and drove Saturday afternoon. I have a sofa in my office and can rest if I want to, but I don't recall doing so.

Re: Important Newsflash....TRUCKER RON!!!!

Well, it could be a support fish, but probably not a service fish.

I heard about the peacock. It made me wonder, what kind of vehicle do people with service horses or fish drive?

Speaking of small horses, I learned something interesting a few days ago. The ADA recognizes 2 animals to be used as service animals....dogs and miniature horses.

Re: I'm tired...anybody got any ideas?

I learned 2 surprising lessons when I got sick with my lung/heart/sepsis event. 1. I had never really lost my appetite before. 2. I only thought I had experienced shortness of breath before. The SOB with heart failure is a beast. I'm sorry your are struggling with it. I hope you get some relief soon.

Tybee must get a lot of wayward travelers. First time I went to Tybee I meant to go to Clearwater.

Horrific story about the shoe. We try to avoid shoes whenever possible. Bugs can't hide in flip flops.
