Test Anxiety

Over the past 7 years since I was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, I've had a lot of echos. Every time I get nervous, like my performance is being tested and I will be deemed a failure. On my first visit to my original cardio, I heard him in the hall telling the nurse to call for a LifeVest and to hol...

Re: Pacing feeling

I can feel my brady pacing, but not the vent. It is an odd feeling and I don't like it. I was brady paced over 25% at 60 bpm. My doc changed it to pace 50 and it doesn't pace much any more and mostly at night. When my heart got sick the left vent was very dilated and my heart was round, not the shap...

Re: OT? Whew...

Another option. I didn't think about the bar. I was thinking your TBI was most likely due to an encounter with a golf club owner who was not quite dead yet. But a barroom brawl is a definite possibility....

Re: ICD- defibrillator and pacemaker

Welcome Komlas! Do you have any idea what his heart rate is running? A pacemaker is used when the heart is beating too slow. It is programmed to emit a little electrical charge at the 60 bpm interval if the heart doesn't do so on its own. The heart would be pumping more effectively, perfusing the bo...

Re: (Another) Ablation Question

Chrissy, my doc has never mentioned an ablation either. I think the difference is that the problematic rhythms you and I experience are the result of diseased heart muscle. Ablations are done for electrical problems. I don't know if there would be anything to ablate for us.

Re: What's up with that?

So now I ponder..... is it the sex or have I died? Seriously, though, why is it moving so slowly? In nearly 2 years, it has barely budged. And, too, it never sets off the scanners. I enter Federal courthouses all the time, through multiple scanners, airports, etc. Nada. Nothing. The last time it set...

What's up with that?

I have a recalled St. Jude CRT.
In October 2016 my battery life showed 1.6 years.
At interrogation today, it shows 1.2 years.
My last shock was Decmeber 2015.
Is my battery regenerating?

I've never had shingles, don't remember having a heat rash.
But from what I hear, shingles are very painful. So I think you would probably know the difference.

Re: The drug Amiodarone

As I hear stories about medical failures, I have become very grateful for my local team. In 2005, years before I had a heart problem, I went to the ER with chest pain, SOB, exhaustion. My heart rate, even after a dose of morphine was over 140. At my initial blood draw, a thyroid panel was done along...

Re: Cardiac Rehab

I agree with both of you. Actually, I just don't weigh myself. If I'm getting in trouble, I'm the first to know. I'm probably not a good patient. To my mind, if I'm retaining enough fluid to be a problem, I should see it or feel it. If the scale has to tell me, it probably isn't a problem. Since the...
