Re: Viscious Cycle

One of the best products I’ve used for leg cramps is CALM. It’s a magnesium drink mix. You can get it with or without calcium and with or without flavor. There’s also tonic water that’s gross to drink, but has quinine in it that can help. I do use lotions that are essential oil based that can help m...

Re: Viscious Cycle

It’s so hard to read the struggles you are going through, just as Freckles and the rest. I’m so sorry there isn’t better help, solutions, or relief. I am thankful of all the knowledge and support each of you provides to those of us with questions and discussion. You’ve handled it all so well - humor...

There was the person who sent twenty different puns to his friends, with the hope that at least ten of the puns would make them laugh. No pun in ten did!!!!

So thankful surgery did well. I’m sure you will do well with the LVad as it seems you’ve got a positive outlook and that does more for recovery than anything. Keep us posted and know we are praying for the best outcome.

Re: New to ICD recommendations

As you’ve had issues finding a local support group, I’d suggest he make an appointment with a therapist or counselor to discuss and be fully aware of his issues regarding and ICD. That may help him see the his feelings in a new light. He either chooses to get one or not, but he needs to accept his d...

Re: o/t Can we have a check in??

I’m here...I’ve talked with 3 different families whose loved one had open heart surgery last week..39 yr old, 42 yr old, elderly woman....I figure one out of the three will have an ICD soon..as always I’ll direct them to the site. Good to hear from a fellow tennessee vol! You’d be surprised how many ICD peeps there are in our state. Im not treated for ICD at Vandy, but my EP is hands-down the best. We’ve some great doctors in TN. So glad you’ve found support in this site. They’ve helped me many a time with their knowledge and...

Re: OT - Need some advice

Excellent! My thoughts: there doesn’t seem to be enough engaged follow-up. It’s just ‘fixed the immediate heart problem through surgery’ and no follow through after cardiac rehab. Just the ‘come back in 6 months’. When in reality it’s a life time of medicine regulation, sometimes trial and error, an...

It's convenient.....but ,monthly monitoring is expensive in my opinion...$14 for Coumadin clinic to call me every Monday with t...

Re: WARFARIN AGAIN GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Oh how I feel your pain about warfarin......I too have nosebleeds in same nostril and place. It's a weak capillary. Bloodstop is great to have on hand. Works well. My wife refuses to put "good" pillowcases because I've ruined several...can't seem to get the stains all out. Anyway, the up and down of...
