Re: I think I am finally improving

I'm happy for you Chrissy! I haven't quite figured out how to add emoticons here but if I knew how, i would add a few dancing women to celebrate with you!!! I hear ya on feeling cautious about embracing feeling better for fear that the tides could turn - but I say celebrate it! Enjoy and God bless.

Re: Physical therapy treatment restrictions with ICD

So sorry to hear about your fall! I've been there and it's no fun. One thing I did learn from my time in physio is that using a Tens machine or anything like it is a no-no. Take it easy and my best to you as you recover and explore what caused your fall!

Update on battery replacement surgery

Hi All, Just wanted to pop in to first thank all of you who responded to my invitation to weigh in on St. Jude vs. Medtronic. I ended up opting for Medtronic and was given a Viva XT which fit everything I need expect for one item, which is the MRI feature. The reason they were not able to implant an...

Re: Medtronic vs. St. Jude?

Just great advice, tips and information. Thank you everyone! I am so appreciative to all of you and to this forum. I will have an opportuinity to talk with a Medtronic rep on Friday just before the surgery and will be able to make my final choice then. The hospital tells me that they use Medtronic A...

Re: Medtronic vs. St. Jude?

Thanks ROBO - I have no doubt every brand has it's share of issues. I guess I am just trying to learn if it is worth making the switch. When I was first implanted, I did not get a choice, nor was I even told there were a variety of devices. I just want to be able to weigh in on what goes into my bod...

Medtronic vs. St. Jude?

I learned today that I can switch to Medtronic from St. Jude when they do the battery replacement. And so I just wanted to come here and invite whoever can, to weigh in with some thoughts about their positive and negative experinces with these two device brands. Obviously the greatest con to St. Jud...

So sorry you've been in so much pain. So glad you have a great support system around you to help you. It seems recovery takes a bit more out of us and takes a bit longer that they tell us. Praying for a quick recovery for you!

Re: Anesthesia Issues - unable to remain sedated

Thanks All - I'm talking to the head nurse and hopefully an anesthesiologist tomorrow! It helped to hear your thoughts and experiences and especially to know that I can just say that I am allergic to propofol and require a different anesthesia. :-)

Anesthesia Issues - unable to remain sedated

Hello Everyone, I am scheduled for the St. Jude battery replacement on Friday and during my last surgery they were unable to keep me sedated. According to my doctor, they had to pump 'gallons' of the drug Propofol into me as I continually awoke from sedation. I have memory of waking - and it is not ...
