currently learning and working on implementing "smart home" features. Have replaced numerous "dumb" switches, couple of bulbs with "smart bulbs" and have obtained an Apple HomePod for voice control. Amazing how convenient these devices can make things. Also learning a bit about computer security (I ...

Re: Speculation on future

I have often said they will someday find a method to create a hydro electric plant within the arteries using the flow of blood to power a small "water wheel" creating power! Unfortunately, I wasn't smart enough to do it and get rich!

Re: Insurance

I agree with the others, make noise! Write your representatives at both the Federal and State level. Write your medicare advantage insurance company - it has been my experience that a letter directed to the CEO versus the local patient advocate will get a quicker and more appropriate response! Depen...

Re: what am I waiting for...anyway?

I have been goal driven my whole life.... and my demise is no exception. My goal was to live to be 102 and shot by the jealous husband of a 28 year old. That may be one goal I don't reach.... I can understand your thoughts on the matter. I have wondering what my demise will be like when it comes lat...

Re: Update on our members

Still around and checking the board regularly, haven't been posting much. Currently 25 days from being a Medicare patient (for those of you outside of the US, it is a government provided, kinda, insurance program that costs a whole lot less than we pay for typical insurance, and in my case, pays a l...

Re: How do you find a good practice????

My wife was having the same issues with a PA in her doctor's office. She told the Office Manager that she did not want to be seen by this individual in the future and they made arrangements for that to happen. They had apparently had issues with him in the past also. As for finding a new Cardiologis...

Re: Why did I think this way????

I am in the same place as Codman, trying to do much and end up losing a couple of days trying to recover. The one thing I have struggled with learning that I have limitations and need to take a break and sometimes just stop for the day. The fact that you can get through 45 minutes of the class is tr...

Re: On Line Doctor Services

My insurance company provides a visit through Doctor on Demand, a video based service where you list your symptoms and problems then they connect you, via FaceTime, to a Doctor who discusses the issues with you and can prescribe medications.

Hey Al, they also offer psychiatric services too....

Re: Beta blockers

I came off of a Beta Blocker. I told my Cardiologist that it was slowing me down so much I couldn't stand it. I constantly felt like I was living in a jar of molasses. He placed me on an ACE Inhibitor instead. Everything was going along great for about 18 months, but now I am starting to experience ...

Re: Ringing ears.

I generally get the ringing in my left ear only. I always attributed it to so many years of driving a patrol car with the driver's window down. Between the wind blowing in my left ear all the time and the traffic noise, especially during Bike Week, I figured it did that ear in!

Typically, the only person who likes change is a wet baby; however, change is often good for us and gives us a new perspective on life!

I wish you all the best in your home and sure you will enjoy having others to share things with!
