After a while I had started to think I really didn't need the device until one day while driving, I started to pass out........

Re: Welcome LukeG

Welcome LukeG. Got my ICD after near fainting a couple of times and diagnosed with Ventricular Tachycardia. Was told it could lead to V-fib and possible cardiac arrest or sudden death. It has shocked me twice over the past 5 years and both times were appropriate and probably life saving. I developed...

Re: Welcome Karen (and new question on leads)

Hi Karen. Read your intro post. Glad you decided to join the group and tell your story. There are so many different heart issues among us and there is probably someone with similar experience. I've had bouts of bigeminy heart beats where my pulse rate was registering mid 40's. Dr. explained due to b...

Re: am I dead yet? ...

Most of us received our ICD's because of life threatening heart issues. Thank God for this technology as many of us would not be here discussing this. Being that my 1st shock was while driving and I realize this may be one of the worst times for a shock. Thankful it turned out well. With all the kno...

Ron....last time I had any alcohol was 30 years ago. Don't know about Wine giving one the ability to Walk On Mars. However, I was able to "Moon Walk" as a side affect back then. Have lost all dance rhythm since quitting.

Dang....sounds miserable. Hope you get better. Sounds like the cough is the worst of it and sets off some of the other symptoms. Do you smoke?....if so don't inhale like a former president. I read somewhere that good health is the slowest way to die....or something to that affect.

InSync....know what you mean. My Dad had his 1st heart attack and bypass surgery at age 49. This was 1971...the early days of bypass procedure. Two local vascular surgeons were trained by Dr. Michael DeBakey. I also had bypass surgery at 49 and they discovered a scar from previous heart attack that ...
