Re: Reaction to being shocked

Welcome to the group Dale. My first shock in 2015 was while driving. Felt myself starting to faint then Zap. Did not faint, kept driving although I turned and headed for home. It was a startling event, over before I knew what happened and not really painful. Second shock recently while doing some ya...

Re: Beginning an exercise program after getting an ICD

@Cathyb. Yes, I have been a regular in the gym for many years. Believe in overall body training with weights, machines along with bike, treadmill cardio.....walking on indoor track....all in moderate intensity. My cardiac adventures started 20 years ago with bypass surgery and I did go through rehab...

Re: Pharmacy and Xarelto

Guess by clicking on a few blood thinner safety warning ads on Facebook.....I have exposed myself to more. Seems there is an increasing number of these ads. Have read comments from users or their survivors with lots of bad outcomes. Guess it comes down to which is the lesser of evils for you. Would ...

Re: Beginning an exercise program after getting an ICD

First, welcome to the party. V-tac = V-fib =cardiac arrest=death. Felt I really didnt really need the ICD after my implant until it saved me 14 months later and again recently. Seem to remember reading article written by a doctor who also ran marathons and his conclusion was it is harmful and caused...

Re: Well, I have to delurk sometime.

Would have to agree that medical personnel don't give us enough info. Best to do all the research you can about our conditions. Don't remember being told that healing only takes one month and a Cardiologist friend at the gym told me to take it easy for 3 months. Pain is the signal we are doing somet...

Pharmacy and Xarelto

Have been taking Xarelto about one year now after two bouts with Afib and two cardioversions. Last one in Feb and no problems since. Last week I had to call my pharmacy to check on prescription ordered several days earlier. The lady (not a pharmacist) that I spoke with said the medication was danger...

Doing good.... thanks MKM. Think if I were suddenly deteriorating, I would be the first to know. Just going to assume the nurse is wrong and get on with life. Hope you are better today.

Re: Hey! New Member!

Welcome to the group. Dr. told me if I got shocked, it probably just saved my life. Been shocked twice and it was "startling", not really painful and over before you realize what happened. The only participation sports you might have to give up would be football, boxing, etc. meaning those with impa...

Re: CPAP info on NPR

CPAP info on NPR: First, I don't see a link to click on to even know what you are referring to. Are you assuming we all watch NPR? Since you stated "You know it is frowned upon here by the Republicans".....which I take as an effort by you to add a political element. Don't think I would have anything...

Gary: I really didn't buy the explanation and info she was telling me. Have felt really well & seem to have more energy.....not what one would expect with worsening heart failure.
