My daughter who is grown up has an ICD. We face the challenge of her anxiety and know that it is mostly caused by the lack of support groups in our area. We have over the years, had concerns for her health, and now that she is a mother, we always think about her staying healthy for her little one. We talk about her health issues often as a family, and offer as much emotional support as we can. We are happy that she has her ICD, but we know that in life everyone is a special gift so we embrace the fact that she has been giving this device to keep her heart in good working order. It is always on our minds, and this can in itself leads to concern within our family. Thank God she has the device though.
