Stronger than I thought

Post by Toaster2011 » July 21st, 2010, 6:16 pm

Hey friends,
I have just returned from 5 days in Hawaii, and it was amazing! Not only is Hawaii ridiculously beautiful, there are alot of adventures to be had there. Ever since my implant I have been timid to do some activities which I used to love, even though y doctors gave me the thumbs up. Well I finally got over myself and went to the driving range with my dad. Not only was I fine, I was hitting some really solid shots for someone who hasn't golfed in 9 months. I also went snorkeling and shark diving( in a cage) while I was on the big island. I am not writing this to brag, but I just wanted to encourage anyone who is feeling fear about getting back into physical activity. It's fine to be scared but it is not fine to let that fear run your life and keep you from doing the things you love. I have let fear control me for way too long, and who knows how little time we have to waste. I am so glad to have moved past the fear point and I welcome all the new adventures to come. Thank you everyone, they don't call you a support group for nothing!
Warmest Regards,

Diana, thanks for posting this. Sounds like a wonderful time and you did great!@ I have been feeling pretty much the same as you, and recently got an invite to go to Quebec with a group in September, then to Myrtle Beach in November, and for both I said yes but have been secretly worrying. I like your attitude, so I am going to try to not listen to my little "what ifs" and have a good time.
