I'm 58 and my zapper is 2 years, 2 months, and 28 days old.

I am 64. Had my ICD implanted September 13th of this year...30 years to the day that I had my heart attack.
MI 9/13/1981
triple bypass 1/28/2004
Pulmonary embolism 10/2005
Rotoblade surgery & 2 stents (lad & lcx) 8/14/2008
V-Tach 9/10/2011
ICD implant 9/13/2011 Medtronic D224DRG
ischemic colitis
meds: Coreg 12.5mg, lisiniprol 10mg, plavix 75mg, aspirin 81mg, nexium 40mg, crestor 20mg

Old? No not old nononono , I am only 61, pensionado for 5 years already, active in many things any but work. My (1st !) ICD is in for 6 years and 362 days after SCD on Nov 13, 2004.
My name is Gijs but in English you can call me Gilbert as this might be easier te remember :-)

SCA Nov 13, 2004, shocked Sep 2 (2x) & 5 2005, Dec 31 2005, May 20 2006, Dec 29 2008, Oct 31 2009 and April 6 2010 (3x). 'Repaired' by epicardial ablation April 16th, 2010.
First ICD Guidant Vitallity, second (May 16, 2012) Boston Scientific Energen ICD

41 years and ICD no.2, too many 'events' and countless shocks........but nothing since the ablation, yeeha!!!

52 years old, got my zapper when I was 49, and other than one pacing episode, it's done nothing else. I'm still attached to it however. Diagnosed with cardiomyapathy around age 40, chf put me on reduced work duties at 48.
Feel a helluva lot better now than I did in those days though.... well, most of the time.
Cardiomyapathy (reason unknown; suspect viral infection 1998), chf, gout, diabetes, asthma, bad hair.
Medtronics Virtuoso VR implanted Aug 28/08, single lead.

60 years and counting. Received my helper 1 1/2 years ago due to CHF. bunnydan

dx CHF, LBBB, EF 12-15% 3/10 per echo
EF confirmed by cardiac cath, no blockages
medtronic consulta inserted CRT-D 5/10
ALL the CHF MEDS started 3/10
Now on Coreg 12.mg bid, losartan 50mg hs
EF now 49% per echo 4/2015
Medtronic Viva CRT-P inserted 1/12/17

56, robot heart put in about two weeks after I turned 51.
August 1, 2007, died; CPR restored
August 3, 2007 implant Medtronic Pacemaker/Defibrillator
Coreg and Atacand daily

I am 54 I had my first ICD in September 2007 and my CRT-D in May of 2010. What a diffrence it has made!! :snowman:

I am 57. Have had my ICD since July '08. One shock and lots of ATP. Thankful that the little thing is working as it should.

I'm 38, and I got my ICD last August. Like a few other said, I'm hoping to be able to some day collect my Social Security!
