Hi Guys and Gals,

I just reached my 80th year last month. I have had 12 bypasses (3 surgeries), 5 stents, and ONE ICD. I can't drive anymore (no can see good), sometimes use a mobility scooter. ---BUT---I still do feel Great! I can cut an acre of lawn every week on my John Deere tractor, mow about 8 acres of pasture once a month with my Diesel Yanmar tractor, keep about 150 rabbits fed and cages clean out, play a barytone Soxophone in a polka band' and play in a English handbell choir.

When I was a kid, I wanted to win the Nobel prize in physics, or literature, , but I think that I will have to erase that one from my "to do" list.

Even though you are NEVER supposed to ask a lady her age. . . I guess it's OK this one time! I'm 52. Got my ICD the year I turned 50, what a way to turn 50, huh?!

By the way, Merry Christmas to everyone! :xmasclap:

I am 56, but just a few short weeks away from 57. Have had my backup generator for five years now, since 2006. But it's been 22 years since I joined the world of heart failure, with a heart attack and double-bypass in 1989 at the age of 34.

But like the old Timex commercial says, my heart "takes a lickin' but keeps on tickin".... :-)

Two Heart Attacks - 1989 and 1998
Double Bypass, LAD and RCA - 1989
Chronic A-fib since bypass
Three angioplasties - 1996, 2007, and 2011
Medtronic Virtuoso ICD installed - 2006
First (and only) shock, due to VT - May 2011
Ventricular Ablation - July 2011
Medtronic Evera ICD installed - December 2013
Drugs: Digoxin .25mg, Lisinopril 80mg, Carvedilol 12.5mg, Warfarin 7.5mg, Levoxyl .175mg, Atorvastatin 40mg, Effient 10mg, Furosemide 40mg, Aspirin 81mg

I'm as old as the bikini. Interestingly, the average alleged age so far on this thread is 55.6.
