Elizabeth Martineau

Post by hugooc » March 17th, 2015, 11:57 am

It is with great sadness that I inform you that our beloved friend Elizabeth Martineau has passed away last Thursday from complications from a recent heart transplant. Those of us who knew Elizabeth, knew how generous, kind and loving she was. I was fortunate to meet Elizabeth in person in 2011. A celebration of her life will be held this Saturday at the Levine Center in Matthews, NC at 1pm. The address is 1050 Devore Lane in Matthews, NC 28105 if you wish to attend. Her daughter Michelle has asked me to let everyone know how much this group's friendship and support meant to her over the last several years. My thoughts are with Elizabeth and her family.

Condolence cards can be sent to the following address:
9013 Ladys Secret Drive,
Indian Trail, NC 28079.

This is very sad. She has been such a big part of our family here over the years.
May Elizabeth now rest in peace.

Thank you Hugo, for letting us know. I am saddened by the news. She was one the most active members on here back when I joined the forum and I remember her painting extensively.

As soon as I saw Elizabeth's name, as a topic, I got a sinking feeling.
I am so sorry to hear of her passing.
My thoughts and prayers go out to her children, grandchildren and all those who loved her.
Elizabeth was very special to me, as I'm sure she was to those who remember her here and/or on Facebook. She was always so kind and supportive and had a great attitude.

Thank you Hugo for letting us know.

How very sad. She was a great support to so many here, and a talented artist. She will be missed by her ICD family here.

This saddens me a great deal. Elizabeth and I had periodically exchanged several messages and e-mails. She was a great gal; I suspected something was wrong as I'd saw a few posts from her on facebook after the transplant then nothing. Lost a good friend that I never had the opportunity to meet.

Craig, you pic is one Elizabeth did for you isn't it. I have a lovely portrait she did of me also. I can't believe she is gone, last I heard from her she was having some complications but was very positive. She really was a fighter, with her line dancing, her art and her family which she loved so much. She will be missed, although as you say she went quiet for a while, I managed to email her a few times and got fantastic replies, but this is so unexpected. I can't believe I will not see her posts on facebook anymore or get her emails. Although we never met, she was very special.
